With a view to continuing to provide you with information concerning steps taken by the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua to build the interoceanic Grand Canal of Nicaragua, I have the honour to inform you that on 3 July 2012, the National Assembly of Nicaragua adopted Law No. 800, "Law on the legal regime of the Grand Interoceanic Canal of Nicaragua and the establishment of the Grand Interoceanic Canal Authority of Nicaragua", which sets out the guidelines for completing the Grand Canal of Nicaragua and the characteristics, objectives and powers of the Grand Interoceanic Canal Authority of Nicaragua.

Con el objetivo de continuar informándole sobre los pasos que ha seguido el Gobierno de Reconciliación y Unidad Nacional de la República de Nicaragua para la construcción del canal interoceánico "Gran Canal de Nicaragua", me permito comunicarle que el 3 de julio de 2012 la Asamblea Nacional de Nicaragua aprobó la Ley núm. 800, "Ley del régimen jurídico del Gran Canal Interoceánico de Nicaragua y de creación de la Autoridad del Canal Interoceánico de Nicaragua", bajo la cual se definen los lineamientos a seguir para lograr el Gran Canal de Nicaragua y la definición, objetivos y prerrogativas de la Autoridad del Gran Canal Interoceánico de Nicaragua.
